What’s up savages? If you’re here, and hey – THERE YOU ARE, then you’re shopping around for a hosting company that will give you the best value for your money. Now, I have been a web developer, designer and all around Nerd of Fortune for a few decades. So, I have hosted with or, at least, dealt with almost EVERY HOSTING COMPANY IN THE WORLD. No shit! I’ve worked with the best AND the worst. So, here is a basic list of the good ones. Choose where you will be hosting YOUR new ONLINE BUSINESS and, if you like, reach out TO ME and I will give you 20% off ANY & ALL of my services.
Now, these hosting companies are NOT reviewed in order here. I wrote them down as I thought of them, pretty much. IF I were to play favorites, I would choose SiteGround and Liquid Web. But that’s just me. Anyway, here’s the list:
The Best Web Hosts Along With Special Deals
SiteGround is an awesome hosting company. I can’t say that enough. They offer SO MANY FREE TOOLS with each and every account that it keeps surprising me. This website you’re on now is hosted by SiteGround. Every website they host gets:
- Free SSL’s (FREE FREE FREE, no gimmicks)
- Free CDN (a Content Delivery Network to speed things up)
- Free Malware Protection
- Free IP blocker
- Free Email Accounts
- Free Traffic Analyzer
- So Much Free Stuff!
BlueHost is another favorite. Bluehost is a fantastic choice for anyone who wants to build their website for their businesses or blogs. Their onboarding process and automatic WordPress installation makes everything feel very easy to use. They provide a best value & service, and their product just works well. I have had several clients who trust Bluehost, so do I. They offer:
- Bluehost is surprisingly easy to use.
- They’re surprisingly fast around the world.
- They’ve got High-Performance servers.
- Fantastic security features.
- They’ve got a buffet of benefits.
- Support responds very fast.
- Freebies that matter.
Domain.Com is one of the oldest and most trusted registrars and hosting companies in the world. They’ve been around so long they make NoDaddy look like an infant. With 99.9% uptime guarantee & a support team that puts NoDaddy TO SHAME, Domain.Com is a great choice also. Here are a few GREAT points about their service:
- Unlimited storage and scalable bandwidth.
- Excellent 99.9% uptime guarantee.
- Multiple website-builder tools.
- Free SSL Certificate.
- Easy to set up.
- Free Domain.
- Outstanding 24/7/365 customer support.
- 24/7 network monitoring and DDoS protection .
I also like the solid uptime and speed results that make Namecheap a reliable host. Don’t let the name fool you, they are INEXPENSIVE but a GREAT VALUE. However, we wish that customer support would be better and that they would have more data centers to choose from, but hey. Overall, Namecheap is definitely a good host, and here are some perks:
- Free Domain and Migration. Namecheap excels at domain names. …
- Good Uptime – 99.95% …
- Decent Load Time 403 ms. …
- 30-day Money-Back Guarantee. …
- Fully-Loaded Value Plan. …
- Third-Party Reviews Are Excellent. …
- Consistent Customer Support.
With a 99.99% uptime and 24/7 phone or email support, Network Solutions’ hosting plans are very reliable. All things considered, Network Solutions offers a decent hosting package. they also have one of THE BEST website builders in town (town being the web – lol). If you don’t want to spend a lot of money on web hosting, shared hosting is the way to go. However, all of their hosting is shared, on a customized cPanel. Other than that, they are pretty great:
- Good shared, WordPress, and e-commerce plans
- Helpful customer support
- Includes website-building software
- Dependable uptime
InMotion is AWESOME POSSUM PUDDIN’ PIE y’all! They are one of the best hosts I’ve ever had the pleasure of using. Although they lack certain speed enhancing features (no NGINX on shared plans) and they’ve only got 2 datacenters based in USA, their server response speeds are crazy fast! They’ve also got a great support team, patient and knowledgeable enough to handle all our questions. InMotion Hosting gets two thumbs up from us!
- InMotion Hosting is VERY FAST!
- Features that vastly improves SPEED!
- 99.9% uptime guarantee.
- BoldGrid – premium site builder included.
- Free domains.
- Free SSL, automatic backup & hack protections.
- 24/7 U.S. based support.
- 90-day money back guarantee & free website migration.
Squarespace is a CMS platform that allows users to create a DIY blog, eCommerce store, and/or portfolio (visual art or music). Their templates are designed to be elegant and give users maximum control over the look & feel of the website. Some Squarespace templates are industry or use case-specific, such as menu builders for restaurant sites. This is PERFECT for beginners and/or folks just wanting more AUTOMATION in their hosting. Features include:
- Good site speed.
- Good spread of templates.
- Drag and drop interface.
- Allows data import/export.
- E-Commerce friendly.
- Fantastic support.
- G suite integration.
- Regular Auto-Updates
- Built in security
- Simple to use!
OOOOO BABY! Liquid Web ROCKS THE BOAT! When I worked at NoDaddy (yup, that’s right) I dreamed about working for Liquid Web. They were right DOWN THE ROAD, lol. Lightning fast, AMAZING Uber-Smart support and good prices (well, maybe a BIT pricey). Liquid Web knows they’re good at high-performance hosting, and they choose to focus on excelling at that. They brag about:
- 100% Uptime Guarantee. …
- Expert support available 24/7. …
- HIPPA & PCI Compliance. …
- Built for tech-savvy users (not beginners) …
- Not the cheapest hosting provider. …
- Managed VPS Hosting. …
- Managed Dedicated Servers.
Weebly is a popular host that uses their proprietary and very clean cut sitebuilder that edges into the eCommerce site space. Although not MAYBE suited for large eCommerce sites, it does give smaller players a very cost-effective way to enter this arena. Also great for personal websites and to a lesser extent – blogs since there is a free plan available.
- Solid site speeds.
- High design flexibility with themes.
- Editor is simple and easy to use.
- Weebly Mobile App – build & manage from your mobile device.
- Weebly app center.
- Bonus extras.
- You CAN move away from Weebly.
One of the big advantages of Contabo is the fact that it allows you to build your own dedicated servers. This includes physical hardware like processing power, hard drive space, and RAM, as well as features like additional backup space and ongoing monitoring and management. But, honestly, poor & slow support, bad refund policies and no automation makes Contabo a poor choice for ANYONE except perhaps experts. I myself had a VERY poor experience. Still, they are popular in Europe, I guess.
- Wide array of hosting products
- Highly customizable hosting packages
- Round-the-clock support
- Free SSL certificates
- No refund policy
- No monthly billing
- Limited payment options
- Minimalistic and VERY outdated UI
- Considerable setup fees with VPS and dedicated server packages
So, that’s the list, so far. I am evaluating a few more hosting companies. I should have them added, if they pass, with some general info included. One host that is NOT on this list is Godaddy. I would like to express that, especially with recent events, I don’t recommended GoDaddy anymore. I used to. They USED TO be a good host. But greed, deteriorated support and a poor data center environment (I literally saw old desktops- err ‘dedicated servers’ on the concrete floor in one room) have swayed me away from recommending them any longer. Their servers are NOTORIOUSLY SLOW, have SEVERE caching issues and support is almost non-existent (unless you PAY). Oh how the mighty have fallen.
